Get the kids to help with household chores. Depending on their ages, kids can pack their own lunches, empty the dishwasher or take the dog for a walk. Helping out not only teaches them responsibility, it also saves you time.

Limit extra-curricular activities to two per week., After-school lessons or clubs can give children structure and socialization skills, but also cause stress if they are involved in too many activities. Schedule downtime so the kids can be kids.
