Great foundation The pros rarely put foundation all over your face - just on the spots you need it to smooth out blotches and even out skin tone. It looks more natural (you never get that unattractive make-up line at the chin). Let it sink in (Article Continues Below)
Emergency blush A drop of lipstick on your finger makes a great blush when you're on the go. Just be sure to blend it well. Mix and match lips Got a drawer full of lipstick colours that don't work? Try layering them. Sometimes a combination of two or even three colours will give you exactly the shade you're looking for. Go-go gloss No need for a separate lip gloss. Mix a drop of petroleum jelly with any lipstick (easiest if you do it with a lip brush) and you'll get gorgeous shine. Savvy shaving Buy body wash instead of soap. Body wash can double as a shaving gel making it a great 2-in-1 deal. Right sizing When applying shampoo or conditioner, pour about a loonie-size amount into your palm, rub hands together, and then distribute evenly throughout hair. The amount needed depends on your hair. If your hair is very short, you may need less. If you want, wash your hair a second time. The second lather-up needs only about half the amount of shampoo as the first. Weather beater Has the sun, wind or salt "fried" your hair? No need to invest in a special deep conditioning product. Just leave your usual conditioner on for 3 - 5 minutes for a special conditioning treatment, whenever your hair has the "blahs." Tight squeeze To get the most out of your conditioner, squeeze excess water from your hair after shampooing. Conditioners work best on damp hair, not wet. News Canada
