By: Bob Howard
It's been two months since you started working out and eating properly. You've lost 15-pounds, look great, and most important, haven't felt this good inn years. Are those departed pounds destined to come back and haunt you? Will you suddenly gain weight?

Traveling on the road does not mean that your health should suffer. Before you even leave do a little research. Call the hotel where you will be staying and ask them for suggestions on local running trails, scenic walks, and fitness centers. You won't gain weight if you do any of these. Better still check on the hotel's own exercise facilities. If they don't offer anything, you may want to switch to a comparably priced hotel that does have a pool or fitness center.

Besides you casual and business clothes pack some comfortable workout gear including running shoes. If it's going to be a long stay, you might want to bring a couple of pairs of workout clothes. If there are no exercise facilities close by, bring along a few items such as a jump rope and some resistance tubing and work out in your hotel room. You don't need thousands of dollars worth of exercise equipment to keep in shape. In fact body-weight and rope exercises can actually improve you fitness level if you're not used to doing them while working out. And remember, it's not really necessary to workout at maximum intensity. Your goal is to stay active and not gain weight.

The most important thing is to take advantage of your new surroundings, be creative, and enjoy yourself. Sure a long, slow walk on the beach or hiking trail may not burn as many calories as a high-speed run on the treadmill. But then again we doubt you'll get the same view of the setting sun from your gym's treadmill. Diet training on the road can still be rewarding and productive.
