Rare will you find a straight line when it comes to achieving success. Why is this so?


I am glad you asked. Success can be elusive because people often fail to persevere.


You have heard statements such as, "It took me 20 years to achieve success, or I was an over night success and it took 10 years." The reason why people make these statements is because some people give up on the dream for achieving success and it takes a lot of hard work to achieve success.


For example, think about Tony Dungy coach of the Indianapolis Colts, the recent Super Bowl Champions. Dungy's team tried and failed to make it to the super bowl numerous times prior to earning an opportunity to play in the big game and finally wining it.


One can say, success in the National Football League was elusive for the Colts. Dungy's previous teams were actually better than the team that won the Super Bowl this year, however it seemed every game they played leading up to the super bowl resulted in defeat.


The fact of the matter, his previous teams happened to be playing teams that were better than them at the time and they went down in defeat. All of the previous losses made the Colts teams and staff better. In other words they learned from their mistakes and were more determined than ever to become champions.


The end result is the Indianapolis Colts became football champions because they found a formula that worked for them and they executed their plan. The lesson you can all take from their victory is to never give up or give into defeat.


You can keep coming back again and again until you realize the success you so richly deserve, you have to have faith. Tony Dungy said it best, my God delivered my team to victory.


The same can happen for you, simply believe it. I know you can do it, never give up or give in.
